I first encountered the Navigators during my days at Achimota School around 2013. Every Sunday, Setor Fiadzigbey and Charles Bosumprah would come to Kwapong House to lead us in Bible study. Looking back, what impacted me most was not only what they taught, but the sacrifice they made to teach it. They consistently gave up their weekends, family time, and other commitments simply to invest in us. They even purchased Topical Memory System (TMS) materials for us and patiently took us through Scripture memory and the Assurances.

Although I had become born again shortly before entering secondary school, during my BECE period, the Navigators gave me a firm foundation for the faith I had just embraced. They helped me understand the Gospel, develop confidence in God’s promises, and cultivate the discipline of studying Scripture for myself.

After graduating from Achimota in 2016, I entered the University of Ghana, where I was delighted to find another vibrant Navigators’ community waiting for me. Through leaders and friends such as Rhoda, Naa Amanuah, Joshua, and Delanyo, I found a community committed to knowing Christ and making Him known. Those years gave me purpose, accountability, and lifelong friendships centred on Christ.

Our time in the university was marked by evangelism, discipleship, and missions. During my third year, I had the privilege of serving as Campus President for the Legon Navigators. I desired to serve others in the same way Setor and Charles had served me and in the same way my university mentors had invested in my life. Together, we sought to build a community where students could grow in Christ and faithfully share the Gospel.

One of the defining moments of my journey was participating in mission outreaches to communities where many people had never clearly heard the Gospel. Sharing Christ with people who spoke a language I did not understand reminded me that salvation is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit. Our responsibility is simply to faithfully present Christ; the Holy Spirit alone brings conviction.

Today, I work as a private legal practitioner and also serve part-time with a non-governmental organisation. The investment the Navigators made in my life continues to shape my ministry. In my local church, I now coordinate Bible studies and teach the same foundational truths that transformed me years ago. We have completed the Assurances and are now studying the person of Jesus Christ, His humanity, His deity, and what it means to become more like Him.

It has been deeply encouraging to watch young people, many of whom have called themselves Christians all their lives, discover the true meaning of the Gospel for the first time. Their journeys remind me of my own, and I remain grateful that faithful men chose to invest in me. Their obedience has become a lasting legacy, one that I now seek to pass on to others.
