I once felt lost, incomplete, and uncertain of who I was or what I was meant to be and blamed my parents for my predicaments. I attended church, studied very hard, and achieved good grades to fill the void in me. But I felt empty until I surrendered my life to Jesus during a service at Labone SHS, where a group of Ghana Navigators led by Gilbert Seddoh made an altar call.

The Navigators introduced me to the Assurances, and Scripture Memory and stayed with me. One verse we memorized from Jeremiah 29:11 NIV gave me hope: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This promise reminded me that even in my confusion, God had a divine purpose for my life. In times of fear, and doubt and when I felt inadequate, Isaiah 41:10 NIV reassured me that I was never alone and that God’s strength was enough to carry me through: “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Upon entering the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, I faced the temptation of comparison. Social media and the university community made me question if I was enough and at the right place. During one of our Bible Studies discussions on campus, a question was raised about how to be content with who and what God has made you to be in the university community and Naa Kwamaah quoted Psalm 139:14 NIV, in her explanations, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  This verse again reminded me of my unique identity in Christ and helped me embrace who God created me to be. From that day on, I always told myself I am enough, my clothes, and footwear are sufficient in Christ Jesus.

My encounter with Dr. Selassie and the Navigator community in Kumasi made me realize the importance of discipline and faithfulness in the growth process. I was encouraged to stick to the disciplines of regular prayer, quiet time, bible reading, and study among others. This community of leaders and mentors revealed what Hebrews 10:24-25 described. When I am faced with life challenges, Dr. Selassie would always ask me “What is God telling you about this and what promise are you holding onto?” Sometimes I say “God is faithful and will do what He has promised and or God’s timing is the best,” Philippians 1:6, Galatians 6:9.

I am currently a member of the Kumasi Leadership and Nav Ghana Communication teams, and also a national service personnel at LEKMA Hospital as a nurse. I see God’s faithfulness in my journey, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for how far He has brought me and where He is taking me. Through His Word and His people, I have found strength to overcome challenges, courage to embrace my identity in Him, and hope for the future.
