A delayed SHS placement became a real-life lesson of the Purpose-Driven Life as one young man learned to trust God’s plan beyond his expectations.

During the 2025 Navigators Youth Camp, themed Purpose-Driven Life, Sedem, a young participant, joined a dawn prayer walk where we shared prayer points. One of his heartfelt requests was his Senior High School placement. He had chosen a mixed school in Kumasi, closely associated with a major tertiary institution, and he was hopeful and prepared for that outcome. Yet, at camp, we were reminded that God alone knows the plans that lead to a hopeful future (Jeremiah 29:11). We ended our prayers trusting God to determine the right path.

When the placement results were released, excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Sedem was not admitted into his first choice or any of his selected schools. Instead, he was posted to a school he had never considered. Anxiety and uncertainty followed, and he struggled deeply with the outcome.

In that difficult moment, Sedem was reminded of a truth he had learned at camp, from an unexpected voice. His younger sister, who had also attended the camp and was then in her final year of JHS, encouraged him with these words:

“Have you forgotten the Purpose-Driven Life? For those who love the Lord, all things work together for their good. God knows what is good for you.” (Romans 8:28)

I later heard this story during a follow-up conversation with their mother and was deeply moved by the faith and maturity expressed by the younger sister.

Through prayer and continued trust in God’s plan, Sedem was eventually admitted into a well-resourced technical school in the Eastern Region. There, he has found a supportive community and an environment that is helping him grow both academically and spiritually. Though he cried for weeks, Sedem now walks in peace, not because challenges no longer exist, but because he is learning to trust God more deeply.

Today, Sedem is living out the lessons of the camp, discovering firsthand the truth of Romans 8:28.

Stories like Sedem’s remind us that youth camp is more than an event; it is a place where God shapes convictions, builds faith, and prepares hearts for life’s real journeys. We are deeply grateful to all our partners. Your generosity makes these life-changing encounters possible. Your support is not simply funding a program; it is investing in transformed lives and eternal impact.
