“Akosua” (not her real name) has been attending the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Bible studies led by Nii Okine for a long time. Her answers to questions always suggested that she had not only given her life to God but was also growing in her walk with Him. From all outward indications, she appeared to be someone who had already made a personal commitment to Christ.
But something surprising happened during one of their recent Bible studies when she remarked that she wanted to give her life to Jesus. This was ignited by a study on the “I am” statements of Jesus in the Bible, which deeply stirred her heart.
When Akosua was asked, she admitted that she had not truly given her life to Christ, even though she had been faithfully attending and enjoying the Bible studies every Saturday. She added that John 11:25, where Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die,” hit her to the core, and she sensed a strong call to surrender to Jesus that very day.
Even though this came as a surprise, Akosua was lovingly led to Christ by being taken through the Bridge Illustration, a popular Navigators tool that simplifies the Gospel, after which she was prayed for. It was a moment of clarity, conviction, and transformation.
Her story is a testament to the fact that assumptions about people having given their lives to Christ must not be made; rather, the Gospel must be shared with people at every opportunity until they truly understand and can make that personal decision to surrender their lives.
This and many more stories of transformation are what your prayer and financial support are making possible in the lives of young people across different campuses in Ghana. Lives are being touched, hearts are being changed, and destinies are being redirected.
We encourage you never to stop praying and supporting the ministry, because you are part of the stories God is writing in the hearts of many.
