It was another wonderful experience in the presence of God at Abokobi in Accra, from the 12th to the 15th of June 2025, as over 90 participants from Ghana and outside Ghana, including the USA, Nigeria, and Kenya, gathered and encountered the move of God. Over the years, we’ve seen God move through courageous mission efforts. So, this was another opportunity to gather once more and celebrate how far He has brought us, reignite our passion for reaching the lost, and deepen our understanding of God’s heart for the nations.
The conference started on the eve of Thursday, 12th June, with a welcome session from the planning committee. This was accompanied by worship, prayer, and networking. Statistics about the growth of Christianity in Ghana were presented, indicating that for the past eleven years, the growth rate has been 0.26% compared to 25% for Islam. This calls for an urgent response to evangelism and discipleship.

Indeed, participants had a great experience as they were equipped, refreshed, and connected with others committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. The conference was all-inclusive, and an opportune time for people already involved in missions, those who are yet to get into it, and even those who are sensing the call but need clarity to say “Yes, here I am, send me”.
The theme, Who shall I send? which was taken from Isaiah 6:8, Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” was timely and divinely inspired. To say that the speakers, Mr. and Mrs. Okorie Kalu, did justice to it using their practical ministry life experiences would be an understatement. They shared passionately how they had to quit their reputable careers. Mr. Kalu was an Aerospace engineer while his wife was the first Nigerian female pilot, but having understood the Lordship of Jesus Christ and responding to God’s call in obedience, both had to leave for Zambia as missionaries for nine years before returning to Nigeria. But what was more profound was when both were asked how they were able to make such sacrifices. In response, they both said they didn’t see it as a sacrifice; they believed they were only giving back to God what already belonged to him.

Again, the four talks delivered by Mr. Okorie Kalu highlighted the fact that Isaiah saw the Lord, which was an encounter that turned his life around. God’s standard of holiness and glory was revealed to Isaiah, and that made him cry and weep for himself and the people among whom he lived. Isaiah then heard the voice of the Lord and responded to it. This signifies that, when people have a true encounter with the Lord, they must be able to lay all their achievements, accomplishments, and ambitions at His feet. The Lord is still calling and asking today, “WHOM SHALL I SEND? AND WHO WILL GO?” The response that is needed is, ‘HERE I AM, SEND ME.’
Also, throughout the 4 days, one key thing stood out very strongly: God does not demand people’s abilities; he is more interested in their availability. This settles the issue of those who doubt their abilities and sometimes feel inadequate for God’s use.

Another key moment worth highlighting was when the Baa Pokus shared their testimony of how God called them into full-time missionary work in Sierra Leone. It was clear from their story that they knew God was calling them into ministry earlier, yet did not know where and to whom. However, sticking to what they found fulfillment, ministering to young people and children in their natural contexts, the call became clear, and through the advice and encouragement of older Navigators and the Kalus, they were able to answer the call. They, however, alluded to the fact that they couldn’t say they were fully prepared for the task; they only had to trust and obey God.

In addition, through the Bible study sessions, all participants came to appreciate and conclude that the World has always been at the heart of God since time immemorial. God wants every nation, tribe, people group, to hear the good news before the end will come; Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. God called Abraham to become a great nation, and through him, all the nations will be blessed (Genesis 12:1-3). This promise continued throughout scripture and today, as children of Abraham, the promise speaks to us also (Galatians 3:29). In that regard, God expects those of us who are saved to become the light among the Gentiles and to send this light to the outermost part of the world. Matthew 28:19-20.

Lastly, there was a commissioning service for three new full-time field staff of the Navigators Ghana, Emmanuel Nii Okine, Forster Norpe Amuzu, and Edith Carta-Williams, who finished their training in Nigeria in July 2024. Though they are already making an impact in their respective locations, it was important to make it official and to solicit support as they have begun their journeys. They were charged with the words of Paul to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:9-16 and 2 Timothy 4:1-5.
We are grateful to God for the success of the conference and the convictions that were built, including the hearts of men to respond to God’s call in different ways. Pray with us that,
Participants will implement their resolutions right away.
All participants will be ready to say, “Here I am, send me”, when God calls.
God will make resources available for his kingdom business.
The newly commissioned field staff will be used by God greatly.
