In 2006, while I was a second-year science student at the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), I had the incredible opportunity to be part of a new converts class. It was such an exciting time as we gathered for Bible studies on the believer’s assurances, discovering the promises of God for those who trust in Him. I felt truly blessed to share those moments with Mr. James Quist-Therson, Mr. Kenneth Dawson, and two others. These men encouraged me in my new journey of faith. Those meetings remain a cherished memory, marking the beginning of a deeper walk with God.
That journey continued as I grew in my desire to know God’s Word personally, not just by reading the Bible consistently, but also through listening, studying, memorizing, and meditating on it as I had been taught. My time with the Navigators at the University of Ghana campus had a profound influence on my growth.
The leaders showed me such genuine compassion that it nurtured in me a deep care for others. Their examples inspired me to serve, first as a Bible study leader and later as a member of the campus leadership team. These roles stretched and shaped me. My first youth camp with the Navigators Ghana, which bore the theme ‘The Transforming Power of the Gospel’, was fully paid for by someone’s generosity, leaving a lasting impression on me. That simple act spoke volumes and taught me the beauty of giving generously to bless others, just as I had been blessed.
Now, as I continue to grow, I am grateful for the opportunity to facilitate Sunday school and Bible study sessions at my local church, Christ Culture Ministries International. This role has deepened my passion for helping others in the faith, and I look forward to engaging some of the young people in my community in discipleship. Among them are two girls who live with my family and learn from my mother, as well as a young man waiting to enter university. My goal is to equip them with the same tools that have helped me discover the truth in God’s Word so they, too, can uncover those truths for themselves, grow in their understanding, and own their faith journeys with confidence and joy.
I am grateful for how the Lord used these men to lay my foundation for a lifelong journey of faith and service. What began as simple Bible studies has blossomed into a deep desire to see others experience the same transforming power of God’s Word. I am reminded daily that knowing the truth is not a destination but a continual pursuit, one that shapes who we are and how we live. It is my prayer that as I pour into the lives of others, they too will come to know and walk with this truth, Jesus Christ, finding joy, assurance, and purpose in their journeys with God.
