On Saturday, 31st May 2025, the Navigators Ghana family gathered in unity and purpose for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Navigator’s House in Dzorwulu. With 14 participants attending in person and about 25 joining virtually, the meeting brought together around 39 stakeholders, each representing a vital part of a ministry committed to advancing the gospel and making disciples.

The purpose of the day was to reflect on the past year, discuss the way forward, and make key decisions to strengthen the impact of our ministry. This AGM served not merely as a statutory obligation but as a moment where we looked back on 2024, gleaned lessons, assessed progress, and prayerfully mapped out the road ahead. Participants had the opportunity to review and discuss various essential documents: the previous minutes, the audited financial report for 2024, the National Director’s report, the Board report, and other ministry-related matters. Throughout the meeting, there was honesty as members asked questions, sought clarifications, and offered insights to sharpen the direction and strategy of the ministry. “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” (Habakkuk 2:2). This verse resonated in spirit as the ministry’s commitment to transparency and clear communication was evident throughout the meeting.

One of the key highlights was the review of the ministry’s performance in 2024. Despite passionate efforts and visible spiritual impact, including the celebration of our 50th anniversary, the ministry faced financial challenges, raising less than 50% of its annual budget. Additionally, the absence of key leaders at times due to life’s competing demands, was acknowledged as a hurdle to some initiatives.

However, we believe there is hope and the need to continue leaning into God’s provision and direction, as seen in Apostle Paul’s words in Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Also, the Board, represented by the Chairman, Mr. James Nii Nortey Quist-Therson, took the chance to announce that the ministry’s constitution had now been properly drafted, drawing from various working manuals. This consolidated document is set to go through structured approval processes and will eventually guide ministry operations with clarity and alignment.

Another key area of discussion was the inclusion of more women in the ministry’s national leadership, board representation, and fieldwork levels. This is crucial as the ministry continues to reflect biblical equality and embrace the diverse gifts within the body of Christ. As Galatians 3:28 reminds us: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Another exciting decision was the agreement to set up a special committee to document and preserve the heritage and history of Navigators Ghana. This initiative aims not only to honor the past but to strengthen generational vision and remind all of God’s enduring faithfulness throughout the years.

The AGM concluded with a strong sense of staying committed to the revised 5-year strategic plan, which has a bold focus on expanding to new regions in Ghana. This renewed direction serves as a reminder to all members to embrace their roles in God’s work, to keep sowing seeds, nurturing relationships, and raising disciples.

In the spirit of Nehemiah rebuilding the walls, and as 1 Corinthians 15:58 encourages: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” We are convinced that with all hands on deck, as we continue to trust God, we will advance and take the nations God has sworn to give us.
