The beautiful Pool Garden at the University of Ghana was the place to be for this year’s Navs Family Day Out, hosting members of the Navigators family and friends for a memorable time together. From the moment people began arriving, it was clear that this was more than just a gathering; it was a chance to reconnect, build relationships, and share in the joy of community and the joy that comes from people gathering as one family.

The day officially began with introductory remarks from the National Director, John K. Ansah. In his brief message, he spoke about who The Navigators are and what the ministry stands for. He emphasized the ministry’s motto: “To know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same.” His words reminded everyone present that, beyond the fun and fellowship, there is a deeper calling to live out the message of Christ and intentionally make disciples wherever one finds themselves.

As part of the program, participants had numerous opportunities to compete, which created space for connection and the sharing of experiences. The discussions helped participants to learn what others were doing in advancing the gospel where they could and challenged them to think about how they, too, could be more intentional in reaching out and making disciples for Christ in their families, workplaces, churches, and communities.

Well, of course, no family gathering would be complete without games, and there were many and varied options for participants to choose from. Participants enjoyed a variety of games such as Ludu, Oware, Draft, Line and Spoon, among others. It is worth mentioning that Jenga was a favorite, as many new friendships were made competing to build as tall a tower as possible from wooden blocks, until it inevitably came crashing down. These games sparked friendly competition, plenty of laughter, and unforgettable moments for both the young and old.

There was also an abundance of food, and participants gladly treated themselves while continuing conversations and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. By the end of the day, it was clear that this year’s Family Day Out was more than just another event on the calendar. It was a refreshing time of fellowship, reconnection, and encouragement. Families left not only with happy memories but also with renewed motivation to step out and make disciples for Christ in their various contexts.

A BIG thank you goes out to the Family Life and Relationship team, headed by Doc. Nimako and the wife, and all who participated, not forgetting the faithful support of the national office’s administration.
