Offer a thank you sacrifice to God and fulfill your vows to the Most High (Psalm 50:14 BSB).

Our Heavenly Father does not depend on human offerings but desires a relationship rooted in gratitude and righteous living. He has no need for a bull from our stalls or goats from our pens, for every beast of the forest belongs to Him, and the cattle on a thousand hills are His. He knows every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are His. If He were hungry, He would not tell any man, for the world and all it contains are His. Does he eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? (Psalm 50:9-13)

Our thank you offering should come from our appreciation of His attributes and His will: He is the mighty one, He is God the Lord. He speaks and summons the earth from where the sun rises to where it sets. He is from Zion, beautiful in appearance, and shines forth. It is His desire that we call upon Him in times of trouble and trust in His deliverance. It is also His will that we honor Him.

In gratitude for His attributes and will, He invites us to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and calls us to focus on an important verse in Psalms chapter fifty (Psalm 50:23, BSB): “He who sacrifices a thanks offering honors Me, and to him who rights his way, I will show the salvation of God.”

Our highest form of worship as followers of Jesus Christ is praising God despite pain, thanking Him during trials, trusting Him when tempted, surrendering through suffering, and loving Him even when He feels distant. For our covenant with God is a covenant made through sacrifice (Psalm 50:5).

Let us offer a thanksgiving offering for His enduring mercies, His gracious care and provisions, His mighty deliverances, healing, and unwavering protection. Let us thank Him for the bright spots, for seasons of joy inspired by His Spirit, for beautiful moments, and for His fulfilled promises. Thank Him for the beauty and sweetness on our path everywhere we go. Let us gladly present a Thanksgiving Offering!
